Sid Vicious, David Bowie, Liz Taylor and the Kennedy's - superstars abound are on display via Russell Young's pop-icon screenprints. He plays into idolization, image and their not so glamorous reality in dozens of larger-than-life paintings.

The paradox of destruction and creation is at the center of Thomas Hirschhorn's first China show. Rubble and ruin transform the studio space into a workshop, inviting participants to engage with its ever evolving contents. You can make, you can break and it's all free for entry. The opening is Nov 24 at 4pm.

Nov 24 - Feb 17, Ming Contemporary Art Museum.

Tomorrow's the last day for this cryptic exhibition. Collage, fragmentation and cognitive frameworks are central to Yi Nan's work, and ATA Space is putting on a solo show of the artist opening this weekend. These mixed medium pieces offer alternative perspectives on conflicting art historical narratives, creating entirely new images from preexisting ones.

Until Nov 24, ATA Space.

Takashi Murakami in Wonderland

While the Murakami exhibition at Lu One mall may have been fake, Perrotin's put on the real deal. You have to make a reservation on the gallery's website to come see the artist's first solo show in Chinese mainland, but with a few new large scale works on view, the free show is worth a little extra planning.

Until Jan 5, Perrotin Gallery.

GUCCI x Maurizio Cattelan: The Artist is Present

Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan has partnered with Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, to bring a surreal collection of curated works to the Yuz Musem. Exploring how originality can be acheived through acts of repetition, the exhibition inspired by Marina Abromovic's 2010 live performance (as featured in the Jay Z music video for 'Picasso Baby' which, fun fact, revolves around a relatively interesting controversy that you should definitely look up) is runnning through to December.

Until Dec 16, RMB60, Yuz Museum.

Bodega Run

While you're at the Yuz, check out Tshcabalala Self's solo exhibition at their Project Space of Art, highlighting the Bodegas of New York City through paintings, sculptures and video. The family run corner stores featured in Self's show capture an aspect of the Black-American and Latinx community that has yet to be shown in a Chinese instution.

Until Dec 9, Yuz Museum
